Malaika Astorga is a Mexican-Canadian artist, and holds a BA in Communications Studies from Concordia University. She is a social media strategist, graphic designer, writer, DJ & event producer working with creatives to amplify their work in an algorithm-friendly way.
Malaika is the co-founder of Also Cool Mag, and is an associate strategist for 257 Media MGMT from 9-5. In her free time, she does social strategy and content production for creatives and businesses.
Her current roster includes Le Système, Arbutus Records, Taverne Tour, and Molchat Doma. Previous clients include Boiler Room, Em&May, Lisbon Lux Records, Specials, Panther Modern, Annex Vintage, and Cecile Believe, among others.
As, a DJ, she leans towards vocal-driven house, disco, new wave and techno. Recent notable gigs include this summer’s upcoming gig at Piknic, IglooFest’s Nuit Blanche event, IglooFest’s Après Ski 2025 opening for Young Marco, opening for Molchat Doma in Los Angeles, and her residency at Vino Disco in 2024.
